Wireless Network

Nowadays wireless network is very popular. We are using wireless network such a example for using mobile phone. Wireless network is an alternative to running cable around office or home. It is a network that uses radio waves or microwaves to maintain broadcast channels between computers and other networks devices. At times wireless networks are also referred as WiFi network (WLAN). In another word we don’t need to plug a cable into our computer to connect to the internet. So, wireless network is recent technology. Wireless network is used when using wireless networks permit computers, cell phones, server, radio frequencies and even printers to communicate with one another. Nowadays wireless network is rapidly growing in public to use for business and home networking. Because it is easy to setup feature and no cabling involved using. And we can connect computers anywhere in our home without the uses of wires.  Wireless technology is continues to get better, and the wireless products continues to use cost is decreases.

Wireless Operating Modes specially two operating modes there are given below:

Infrastructure mode: 

This type of operating mode is used to connect computers with wireless network adapter. Or it is also known as wireless clients. Existing sired network with the help of wireless access point.

Wireless access points should be set up in a method that maximizes coverage. The provided coverage is generally referred as the coverage cell. Huge areas commonly need more than one access point in arrange to have satisfactory coverage. We can also add access point to our obtainable wireless router to improve coverage.

Ad hoc mode:  this type of mode is used to connect wireless clients directly together without the wireless access point. If any wired networks are not setups then just we get a wireless router and attach to DSL/Cable Modem. And we can setup wireless network by adding wireless card to each of computer and form a simple wireless network. If there are switch ports available then we can connect cable directly computer.

Advantage of wireless networks:

• We can connect to the internet from any around of location in our apartment or house of building within 30 foot radius for Bluetooth device when we are set up wireless network is properly.
• Not only can your employees use a wireless-enabled computer in different locations around the office, they also can right of entry email, websites, and other network services via wireless access points (often called hot spots) in airports, hotels, coffee shops, and other places.
• It is freedom to use.
• Wireless networking is an attractive substitute to installing costly, labor-intensive network cable. And when your users can work wherever they need to be, they stay more productive
• Wireless network include mobility and subtraction of unpleasant cables.

Disadvantage of wireless networks:

• Wireless transmissions can pass through walls, security is an issue. You will need to secure your private wireless network, generally by password-restricting the network and by using a firewall to prevent unwelcome visitors.
•  Wireless reception varies from area to area, even within your own apartment. It's not always guaranteed that you'll have a connection to the internet.
• Wireless networks include the potential for radio interference due to weather, other wireless devices, or obstructions like walls.
• When using a wireless connection with a cell phone, standard website with less functionality.
